Spoiler alert! ‼️
Jesus was.
He came in the flesh to earth as the Son of God over 2,000 years ago. Fully God and fully man. He experienced all of “the things,“ and therefore had compassion and empathy.
John 20 is about the recollection of Jesus’s resurrection. There’s a reason why it was written.
As I was reading it, I put myself in Mary Magdalene’s shoes. It made me tear up. She was crying uncontrollably at the entrance of Jesus’s tomb on that third day. The stone was rolled away, his body was gone, the burial linens were folded neatly, and there were 2 angels sitting at the head and foot of where Jesus’s body should’ve logically been!
What the world?!
Jesus, standing behind her, asks why she’s crying like a hot mess and then proceeds to comfort her further by saying her name, “Mary.”
What kind of God does that???
Our God💜 My God💜
Jesus knew some of us would have trouble believing. He showed his crucifixion nail piercings to his disciples so that their unbelief could change to belief.
He calls us by name so that we know his voice.
"But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." John 20:31 NIV
Wow!
What a declarative statement 🙌
There’s POWER in the name of Jesus💪🔥
So what if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us?💁🏻
Our God was and is and forever will be🙌
Thanks for reading. I appreciate you.
